local team National Manager

DREAM is a student led University club that started at Queen’s University 5 years ago and have expanded into a national event for the past three years. DREAM raises money to build schools and libraries in developing countries. Since 2005, we have raised over $70,000 to build 13 libraries in Nepal and India, and a computer lab in Cambodia.

As the title suggests, the National Manager will coordinate and oversee the Live-in for Literacy event in Canada. He/She will be responsible for contacting the librarians at each participating university, as well as recruiting more universities to join the cause. The National Manager will also build a team to help execute this yearly nation-wide event.

Your main responsibilities would include:

  • Coordinate the Live-in for Literacy event across Canada.
  • Communicate with librarians to reconfirm participating universities and to recruit more universities.
  • Work with staff to make sure projects proceed smoothly.
  • Manage timelines and budget.
  • Create and execute project work plans (includes timelines, budget, and quality) and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings and ensure team members get reasonable schedules and appropriate priorities.

Excellent communication skills, professionalism and leadership is required.
No previous DREAM experience is necessary.
