Events Coordinator
at DREAM in Kingston, ON
DREAM is a student led University club that started at Queen’s University 5 years ago and have expanded into a national event for the past three years. DREAM raises money to build schools and libraries in developing countries. Since 2005, we have raised over $70,000 to build 13 libraries in Nepal and India, and a computer lab in Cambodia.
The Event Coordinator will plan and execute fundraising activities such as BBQs, bake sales, bar nights and comedy nights, etc. for Live-in for Literacy at the campus and in the local Kingston community. You will be responsible for creating events that generate a considerable amount of revenue, and as a secondary objective, increasing the general awareness for the DREAM campaign and its goals on Queen’s campus. The main goal of this position is to generate revenue for funding our educational facilities in developing countries.

Reports to: Local Manager (Queen’s)
Event Coordinator Specific Responsibilities:
• Attend weekly meetings and stay updated on the upcoming socials and events
• Plan Socials for the team
• Plan events and negotiate the venue for all promotional events under DREAM
• Work with public relations to incorporate logos and promotional materials into the fundraising events
• Attend all events and advertise Live-in for Literacy
• Generate awareness of the Live-in for Literacy event through a variety of means
